Release in September of 2005, Maelstrom is one of the first RPPvP server released by Blizzard. Its sister realm, Emerald Dream, is the other RPPvP server released at that time. While Role-playing has it's place on Maelstrom, most of the top tiered guilds focus on PvE gaming, with a small amount of PvP. However, there are plenty of smaller guilds that boast dedicated PvPing, and a few guilds that are strict about their Role-playing.
