In a Wicked Age is an Indie RPG by Vincent Baker.
Play takes the form of a series of linked short stories. The game uses four tables, called "Oracles," to help players generate a situation. They then choose characters and play out their struggles and conflicts. Sending your character into a conflict in which she's outmatched earns you bonuses to your later rolls or an opportunity to appear in the next chapter and define some of its elements.
The game's written with a GM and three-four players in mind, but it can easily be adapted to two-player gaming or GM-less play. Many players like to write their own Oracles for specific settings or alternative genres.
