Game Details

Where: Stafford, VA When: Every Saturday, 5:30 PM to 11/12ish. Games Played: Mix of games - many D20 and White Wolf Number of Players Sought: 3 to 5.

Good evening. My name is Adam. My wife and I are new to the area, having just moved here from Michigan.

Back in Michigan, I ran a weekly game for about 6 years. Prior that, in Wisconsin, I ran one for 5. I'm looking to do the same here.

I work for the US Army (civilian, so don't worry, I won't be leaving again soon). My wife and I have been married for six years and have one 3-year old girl. I have done freelance writing for the Scarred Lands (DnD 3.5) and Exalted (their 2 highest rated adventures: In Hunting a Monster and Daughter of Nexus).

As stated above, the game will be a weekly game held on Saturdays. Every week, we will gather at about 5:30 and game until about 11 or 12 (after usual get-together, chit-chat, and probably fetching of dinner). The game will be hosted at my place, in Stafford. The games we will play will be anything from DnD 3.5 to 4E, to Star Wars, to Old World of Darkness, New World of Darkness, Exalted, Scion, and Anima: Beyond Fantasy.

In other words, this will be a mix of games. We play one campaign to completion and then, usually, switch systems for a while, just so we get a plethora of experiences. The majority of our games are DnD/D20 based. My intent is that the first game we do will be a 3.5-campaign in the Scarred Lands, but that is not a requirement, nor is it a requirement to have knowledge of whatever system we are playing when we start playing it. Sometimes, we're all learning together.

The games I run tend to have structured plots. That is, they are not sandbox games. However, they ARE NOT LINEAR and are NOT RAILROADED. I work with my players to create the plot, and each of you has a role to play in every game. Often, one of you has the role of "main" character, around whom a large portion of the plot may revolve (such as the knight whose father was slain by the antagonist). So that one of you doesn't end up taking up too much camera time, this role is switched from campaign to campaign, so each of you will get the chance to try the lead role. And, not every game is played in this format.

I do not do sandbox style games because I tend not to be very good at them. What I am good at is engaging plotlines that are all about your characters and helping you all have a good time.

As soon as I have 2 to 3 other players, I will be ready to start the game with a character creation night, as that will give us my wife and the 2-3 other players as a good start. I set the gaming group's maximum size to 6 (my wife plus 5 others).

Leave me a response in this thread or message me.
