NearbyGamers GeneralGamers posting in this discussion

I'm starting to think Harkins has lost interest in the site.
No, Harkins just let himself get way snowed under. In the last few months I've moved across the country, done some consulting, started a full-time job, done a standalone Barking Stapler project that'll be launching soon, and otherwise kept myself over-busy. NearbyGamers has been growing steadily the last few months (we're about to hit 3000 gamers, a nice round number) and I let it go on the back burner.
I just finished a bunch of under-the-cover updates. I have some great custom map icons to integrate tomorrow. A logo is getting near to a final draft and will appear in the next week or two. After that, I'll have a flyer folks can hang up (it's just waiting on the map icons and logo).
The Facebook app needs some small tweaks to match some changes Facebook recently made. As this weekend will be my first without guests or other significant obligations, I'd really like to get it up this weekend.
And we're getting into an important time -- roughly today in 2006 I decided to build NearbyGamers. The site launched November 6, so we'll have to think of something interesting to do for the one-year anniversary. Maybe launch an ad campaign.
I could use a few victi -- er, volunteers to check out the Facebook application; I'd like to have a few more people use it before I go through Facebook's steps to run it publicly.
If you're curious, please mail me at harkins [at] barkingstapler.com.
Pretty cool interface, I am inspired to take another stab at my own project now.
