About five minutes ago I deployed the basic code for Groups on NearbyGamers to the new gaming groups tab you'll see at the top of the page.

The only major feature missing from the original mention is discussion forums. I wanted to get the basic features live and in use as fast as I could, discussions will take a few days of rearranging things (for example, I'd like to make the discussions index a little more structured and usable).

If you find bugs, please mail me. If you have ideas for features, post here (or in a new discussion if you think it'll be a big topic).

Cool feature. Could a button be added to invite people to join the group?

It's on the way. I'm planning to allow groups to require an invitation to join, so that people won't have random strangers from around the globe joining their Tuesday-night D&D group.

OK, groups now have their own forums. I've also split out this meta stuff into its own forum from the game talk.

This is so awesome Harkins!

Now my profile can be about me and not the gaming group!

Thanks for all your hard work!
